課程概述

Deciduous fruits, or temperate fruit crops, constitute a great portion of the world fruit industry and research. The diversity and the uniqueness of the location and the climate of Taiwan enable many deciduous fruits to be economically produced in the subtropical and tropical areas. In the past half century, Taiwan has developed some advanced and unique production techniques offering great research potentials for deciduous fruit crops. Deciduous Fruits I provides comprehensive information on major economical deciduous fruit crops with emphasis on pome fruits, stonefruit, persimmons and some other minor deciduous fruit tree crops.

課程目標
The primary objective of Deciduous Fruits I aims to equip course participants the general background as well as species-specific details on the morphology, physiology, and production of important woody deciduous fruit trees through lecturers, discussions, and team project. The course will also inspire student’s future study or career plan with current research and industry trends in deciduous fruits.
課程要求
Students enrolling in Deciduous Fruits I should have previously enrolled in Pomology or equivalent courses and have completed the course requirement. Full attendance is strongly encouraged.
